How Retweeting, Sharing, Liking and Donating Impact Real People - Groupon

We launched on Groupon today! When checked at 8 this morning, we had 9 donations; within just two hours we were at 60 and rising. We're now at 109! That means that 14 children can receive emergency services at our Shelter! We're beyond ecstatic regarding the results so far, and thank you to everyone who's contributed. However, we still have two and a half days left on Groupon, and we're aiming to provide more. Can you help us reach 135 donations before the end of the night? That makes 18 children who can get a day's worth of medical care, meals, a place to stay, classroom instruction (if under the age of 5) or tutoring (5 and over), clothes and more.
For more information on how to contribute, see our previous blog post. However, for those who already have or cannot contribute, there's something you can do that would make just as much of an impact on a child - and it's simple. Crisis Nursery can be followed on Facebook and Twitter; if you have either, please consider following/liking us and then clicking "share" or "re-tweet" to pass on our mission and our Groupon goal. Word of mouth is just as vital in our hopes to provide even more services to Arizona children, and every little bit helps tremendously.
As we shared on last night's blog, these efforts make a strong impact on real people's every day lives. Another post about a day at the shelter will be up tomorrow morning. During my short time there, though, one thing became apparent: for the staff and volunteers at Crisis Nursery, each child means the world to them. When someone walks through their classroom door, the kids greet them by excitedly yelling their name. If they're a very familiar face, like with Michele Joy (Shelter Director - above), they even gather around and hold onto her arms. Each staff member makes the effort to remember each child's name, personality, favorites and more within a short time at the Children's Shelter.
More importantly, each volunteer and staff member has felt a child at the shelter impact their own lives. Each can tell a story about a child they've taken care of. For them, providing care to the children at Crisis Nursery is a very personal ability. That's why they and the rest of the Crisis Nursery team have worked so hard toward getting our goals.
Please spread the word, and thank you again to everyone who's helped us so far. You can find us:
